System Administration Tools  
You can use the system administration tool that comes with your operating system to configure ServerProtect for Linux startup settings. Use the appropriate instruction below. Note: You must be logged on as a root user to use these tools.
For CentOS 4/5.
There are two methods.
Using the GUI
Type system-config-services
    Select Edit Runlevel on menu and choose level 3 to 5 to edit.
    Select splx and mark.
    To start the service manually, unmark splx on level 3 to 5.
Using the terminal only
Type setup
    Find and select  System services .
    Select splx to set it to start automatically; unselect it to start it manually
 
For SuSE Linux Enterprise Server/Desktop 11.
There are two methods.
Using the GUI
Type yast2
    Select System > System Services (RunLevel)
    Select Expert Mode > splx and mark the appropriate runlevel(s). Choose level 3 or 5 to start the service automatically. 
To start the service manually, do not select a level.
 
Using the terminal only
Type yast
    Select System > System Services (RunLevel) then press Enter
    Select Expert Mode > splx
    Mark the appropriate run levels. Choose level 3 or 5 to start the service automatically. 
To start the service manually, do not select a level.
